Giclée Style Printing
Giclée (jhee-clay) originates from a French verb meaning “to squirt” and refers to an elevated form of “ink-jet” technology used to reproduce one-of-a-kind and short run artwork. Prints are made on real artist materials such as watercolor papers and canvas. This type of printing uses a combination of continuous tone and stocastic screen patterns to reproduce a wider array of color than more traditional styles of printmaking. As the process is entirely digital there is a great deal of opportunity for artist interaction.

High Quality Epson Art Paper
We use a high quality, pH neutral, heavyweight art paper to provide the best foundation for a giclée rendering that will last through generations.

Ink Stability
Of course lighting conditions have the biggest impact on the color permanence of pigment and ink used in any medium. At Waterpainter.com we use high quality archival inks tested for color fastness to 200 years in conditions where indirect lighting is utilized.
