Giclée (jhee-clay) originates from a French verb meaning to squirt and refers to an elevated form of ink-jet technology used to reproduce one-of-a-kind and short run artwork. Prints are made on real artist materials such as watecolor papers and canvas. This type of printing uses a combination of continuous tone and stocastic screen patterns to reproduce a wider array of color than more traditional styles of printmaking. As the process is entirely digital in there is a great deal of opportunity for artist interaction.
